Hello lovely,
I know it isn’t officially autumn just yet, but I’m too excited not to share this with you right this second!
As an invaluable member of my Substack community, you will always get the first sneak peek, behind the scenes look of my upcoming books. And so, my latest coffee table poetry book has landed…
Conversations & Coffee Under the Maple Trees will be out on the 1st October - eek!
I wanted to keep with the theme of my first edition of coffee table books, ‘Breakfast on the Terrace & Wine by the Sea’, and use something poetic for the title that felt cosy, and like a warm hug. One that set the scene before even opening the book.
Whilst I’m always sad to leave summer behind, in recent years I’ve grown fond of autumn and all her secrets.
This coffee table book will combine cosy autumnal photos, alongside soothing poetry, and will nestle itself within your heart. The perfect companion for those cool, dark evenings, and crisp foliage walks.
And so, without further ado, here is an exclusive, never before seen piece that is featured in Conversations & Coffee Under the Maple Trees. Enjoy…
Russet red clings onto bare walls,
and ghostly calls lurk inside grand halls.
A shiver of nostalgia seeping into bones,
as the world is quietly bathed in sepia tones.
Amongst decaying woods, secrets spill from moss,
a season rising up from summer’s solemn loss.
Meet the Photographers…
Once again, this book wouldn’t be what it is without the incredibly talented and passionate photographers and creatives that I carefully chose to feature alongside my words. Their work has inspired me and has helped to bring this second edition to life, ready for you to hold in your hands and enjoy for the season.
Ania Whiteley (@onasofterside) - Ania is a writer, who has always found inspirations for her stories in nature and beauty of changing seasons. Working in healthcare for over 10 years made her reflect on the importance of everyday joys, and she aims to showcase them through her photographs. She lives in London and loves to capture the architecture and the seasons in the city through a softer lens that inspires slowing down, little moments of happiness and peace, and deepening the connection to our environment - and through it, to others and ourselves.
(@jessicarosewilliams) - Jessica Rose Williams is a British writer currently living in Paris, France. She writes about living the life we want to live instead of the life we think we should. Her first book, ‘Enough’ was published in 2022. The main themes in her work are style, love and creativity. You can find out more about her and her work by subscribing to her Substack, The Simple Letter or following her on Instagram @jessicarosewilliams. She also makes slow living vlogs and shares them on YouTube.
Irma Sophia (@irmasophia) - Hello I’m Irma! Based out of the San Francisco Bay Area, I grew up always loving photography. Filled with the rich California landscape and culture of the busy city. Although it is not my full time job by any means I do still love to create as much as I can in my free time. Between traveling to new places and the countryside of home, I have found a balance in my artistic style.
Ellie Oakes (@elloakes) - I'm Ellie, a photographer based in the UK. Spending time in nature brings me immense joy and a feeling of peace and, through my photography, I love to capture and share those emotions with others. When I'm exploring the countryside, I like to slow down and notice all of the details around me, from the insects, plants and fungi to the birds singing in the trees. I especially love observing the way the landscape changes through the seasons and I am thrilled that I get to share some of my autumnal photos in this book.
Lana Cole (@elcyphotos) - I'm Lana Cole, a passionate photographer and avid traveller from Ontario, Canada. After graduating in Graphic Design, I've found my calling in capturing stunning landscapes, architectural marvels, and any scene that catches my eye. Beyond photography, I own an outdoor shop selling kayaks and paddleboards. In this role, I lead our marketing and social media efforts, focusing on creating visually appealing advertising materials. I’m incredibly grateful to Jenna for including my photographs in a beautiful autumn coffee table book—it's a true honour to share my work in such a meaningful way.
Rikki Rivera (@rikkirivera) - Rikki is a photographer currently living in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. She’s also a veteran, avid reader, gardener, wife, mother, sister, and daughter. Exploring photography and art in various forms and mediums, she’s greatly inspired by impressionism, still life, light, nature, how fleeting time is, and the impermanence of life’s moments. In any situation,
she’s constantly seeking beautiful light, the peace of wild things, and the connection humans have to it all.
