Hello lovely,
It’s getting to that juicy time in the summer months where the air is hot—balmy, and the sea calls out its siren song for us.
I truly cannot wait to be by the sea again later this summer, I can already feel the pull in my heart. Are you visiting the sea this year?
This was one of the very first poems I ever wrote, the words rolling from my pen, like the waves caressing the shore.
It’s also featured in my first collection, Magic & Musings of the Universe: Explore, and ties in with last week’s post, ‘I long for the water’s edge’.
I long for the water's edge
I feel myself soften when I’m by a body of water, the grip of life loosening by the waves.
I want to run—
to the sea.I’ve never been fond of wet sand.
But I want to run—
to the shoreline. To experience the vastness,
oh, to feel alive. The sudden urge to wander through the waves.
I want to run—
barefoot into the water.Watch the ripples come and go.
If you’d like to support me further, why not check out my collection of poetry books?
Beautiful poem Jenna and one that instantly takes me to the “vastness” and the “urge” ✨
Loved this! 🌊
